Keep your eyes fixed on those eyes, it gets trippy. This video creates a new category for itself: animation improvisation.
A tale told only with cinemagraphs. Lovely black & white cinematography.
At times, this short reaches incredible heights. I wish it had a little more story.
This superimposed layered video has been done before. What makes this brilliant are the choices that go with the style. What to highlight, what should be hidden and when do these happent. The dance is lovely. The “story” is simple but open to so many possibilities. Put it up in fullscreen and just sit back and enjoy.
The spoken word is brilliant. The animation is equally brilliant. It improvises, moves, thinks like it were alive. No specific style but a series of connections. This should be played in every classroom.
This short is wonderfully ambitious with its storytelling. The underlying intent: “The larger our past gets the smaller our present feels” is given a world to live in. The animation invites you in with layers of textures and ideas.
Here is the sad truth behind those crappy relationships.
A lovely short by Disney Animation. The style is a mix of modern and old. The story, especially the resolution, is classic Disney. That’s where it kinda disappoints. We like magic on screen, it works but the resolution I wished came from the non-magical. Still, I loved it.
Full of lovely little ideas.
The power cut off in New York City after Hurricane Sandy. The video is an inside look at what it felt and looked liked.
Beautifully realized. Strong visuals. The ending doesn’t come as a surprise, the twist is a constant refrain of shorts. There is only so much that can be done in a short film format but I did wish the film could have continued for a longer period and delved into some of its ideas.
At times, the whole scene resembles ants transporting their huge prize home. A new kind of reporting: no interviews, no set-up and timelapse says it all.
This is fantastic. Great father, cute kid and a expressive little train.
Needed a cut-down and a little more story or character but the visuals are really incredible for a short.
You don’t need to add any drugs to this party, it’s stoned enough.
