Beautiful cinematography. The HD camera & 35mm lens combo predictably create a striking picture. Widescreen cinema loves a subject in the middle and there is plenty of that in this short, especially effective when the subject looks directly in camera.  The story is cute, not sure if I would like it if it were shot differently.

New York Divided is an exhibit which draws from the New-York Historical Society rich collection to explore the turbulent half century of the city’s history with southern slavery.

The exhibit spans thru several medias, including a website and obviously video installations and short movies, like this one directed by Benjamin Goldman.

Jay J. Armes, Private Investigator

Jay J.Armes is a person who as a young boy lost his hands in an explosion. Ironically (despite having lost the lower part of his arms as a boy) his name is Jay J. Armes. Later on he became one of th most succesfull private detectors of his time. The most distinguished achievement of his career being the rescue of kidnapped son of the acclaimed actor Marlon Brando.
