I happened to watch the short film “Madame Tutli Putli”. I am amazed at the depth of abstracts theme the creator(s) have thought of, & the excellent execution of the same, creating, thus, a masterpiece eternal. The backgrounds, the setup & the sound put together does marvels to the viewers (brings shivers)! It is, indeed, a job well done! My hearty compliments to the creator(s)!

All of the nominated animated and live action short films are now available for purchase from iTunes. I’ve been unsuccessful locating the documentary shorts. Any leads on those?

Check landmarktheatres.com — both the animated and live-action shorts nominees are showing on big screens in about 50 cities starting February 14. DVDs will be available around the same time…. or maybe after the awards? They aren’t showing up on Amazon just yet, but the same distributor has sold them for the past two years as two separate DVD collections.

A very good selection of short films, it will be difficult to choose between them. My top three would be Meme Les Pigeons, Peter & the Wolf and
Madame Tutli-Putli (in no particular order).

The feature animation film nominees are also an excellent selection

Thanks so much for this site! I can’t believe how difficult it has been to find a theater screening the nominated short films in NYC. BTW, Atonement IS nominated for Best Picture this year, so cheer up. Also, you are one of the few people I’ve heard of who has even SEEN Cate’s performance in Elizabeth: The Golden Age. Impressive.
