Hillcast – Bill Clinton homers for Hillary

This ad/podcast by Hillary election campaign is so so good. This isn’t as funny as the Bill Richardson ad but in a different way this is as good as that ad. While Bill Richardson’s ad begged to be included, Hilary Clinton’s ad tries to surge past any other contender.

It works well on so many different level. You got the charming Husband/ Ex-President humbly saying indirectly that Hilary was always a better person than he was. The ad also softens the Senator’s tough image. Many across the country view her as part of the establishment, this ad addresses that. If they play this on television for a good length of time, there will only be one Democratic candidate in a couple of months.

Watch it (thanks Scott)

My comment below:

“I think gender is an issue but I doubt it is as big as everyone states it is. To me, the biggest obstacle is still her Washington-ess. Her quest for power. If they can manage to show, like in this ad, that power is not what she wants but instead the ability to change. They got a winner.”

“If they play this on television for a good length of time, there will only be one Democratic candidate in a couple of months.”

    Whoa! Slow your roll man!

While I agree this is a fantastic add that shows many of her strong points, don’t fret, you could do an hour long add with her short-comings as well.

I am not a fan of Hilary’s, (I am of her husband) and I do agree that this is add does a fantastic job of pointing out many of her accomplishments….most of which happened before she held any office! It’s nice to see someone with lots of many give themselves to anyone that is in need, but let’s not make the woman out to be a Saint. I doubt her and Bill were hurting financially while Hilary let the high power jobs she was so deserving of slip by the wayside.

Also, as a politician, Hilary has a very bad habit of adjusting her views to fit with public opinion. This is obviously something Bush Jr. doesn’t have a problem with, but that’s another issue. Hilary seems to think that back-tracking on herself is A-ok as long as she’s switching to what is popular in America at the time. That doesn’t work for me, and I’d guess for most American’s with any common sense.

Finally, dude….this is America. Bush wasn’t elected by California and New York. He was elected by all those bible belt states and the states in the middle of the US….Not to be crude/rude, but with education comes racial/sexual tolerance. The less educated/rural portion of our country isn’t going to spring for a female president, so if Hilary were to gain the democratic nomination go ahead and pencil in Joe Republican as your next president. Remember, these “red states” were the same people that were duped into believing that the last election was about moral/Christian/family values, only to later see there were much more important issues. They’ll be fooled again, you can’t teach an old dog new tricks.

Wonderful add, but in all honesty it will most likely be met with hostility rather than acceptance. Welcome to America, land of the free.

The republican base is 27% of this country. I would guess the Democrats are not far off from that number (something like 34%). The majority of this country are undecided and indpendents.

As a recent study found out, the majority that go to the polls are the extreme groups because they are simply more motivated. However, when someone like Bill Clinton or Reagan comes along, they show up in huge numbers. Hilary is too much of a polarizing figure to bring in those people but enough appearances from Bill could do it. Bill still commands a big following and in this ad, he shows he is ready to eat some humble pie. Big, big deal.

Let us also not forget that the last elections (the mid-term elections), there was a huge swing towards the Democrats. This happened even in the Red states.

I think gender is an issue but I doubt it is as big as everyone states it is. To me, the biggest obstacle is still her Washington-ess. Her quest for power. If they can manage to show, like in this ad, that power is not what she wants but instead the ability to change. They got a winner.
