Angle Mort

A 3D French ghost story. My French has declined so much of it was gibberish to me. But the visuals and the story still managed to suck me in.

Honda – Hate Something, Change Something

Honda - Hate Something, Change Something

Daring commercials where there is plenty of dead silence where in others there would have been plenty of music. For a commercial it really takes its time. There is a certain ease about everything.

La Jetee

La Jetee

One of the outstanding films that were shown in one of my college film criticism classes. It jumpstarted my imagination especially in regards to still pictures and the use of the emotional voice-overs.

Japan Destroyed and Rebuilt

hiroshima.jpg  japan-ClipBoard-1.jpg

Here’s a couple of Japan themed clips, showing human ingenuity, at its worst and best. I like the way they match, giving much more sense to each other.

The first one, is a CGI re-enactment of the explosion of Little Boy, the first atomic bomb ever used against civil population in history. It is an excerpt from Hiroshima, a BBC documentary.

The second is an old post from my own blog which I’ve just updated. Japan is a visual piece directed by Nobuo Takahashi that shows a Japanese city changing from a rural area to a metropolis.

The Lost Gospel of Judas

Channel 4 documentary on The Gospel of Judas.

In 180 AD an early church father denounced a book that he called The Gospel of Judas, which claimed that Judas was Christ’s closest collaborator. The document disappeared, but a manuscript that emerged from the sands of the Egyptian desert has been traded on the antiquities black market for the past 25 years. Experts restore this potentially important Biblical discovery in an effort to determine its authenticity, and consider what it may reveal about the life of Jesus Christ.
