Darren Aronofsky is one of the more interesting directors working in Hollywood today. Both “Requiem for a dream” and “Pi” were incredibly original. The trailer for his new movie “The Fountain” promises more of the same. The plot outline found at IMDB says this: “Spanning over one thousand years, and three parallel stories, The Fountain is a story of love, death, spirituality, and the fragility of our existence in this world.” Also pay attention to the use of silence in the trailer. Very effective.
